First Lady McAuliffe receives donation to Feed More
September 30, 2016 - Richmond, VA
First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe visisted the Richmond Feed More food bank to receive a large food donation from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The donation provided approxmiately 17,000 meals to Virginia familes.

- Brooks Baltich, President of the Midlothian Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
- Margaret Schultze, Virginia Commissioner of Social Services
- First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe and members from her staff
All of the comments were gracious in accepting this generous donation from the Church and the impact of this gift in many lives. Many recognized the the need for diverse partnerships to better serve the needy through partnerships like Day to Serve.
Mrs. McAuliffe serves as Chair of the Commonwealth Council on Bridging the Nutritional Divide. The Council is focused on eliminating childhood hunger in Virginia, developing local agriculture markets, and promoting community efforts that link locally grown food, education, health and nutrition.
After her remarks, the First Lady presented Mike Waters, a Day to Serve coordinator, with an original copy of the DTS Proclamation.
Also in attendance were various leaders of local congragations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gail Harris, Gail Doyle and Zandra Relaford from the Dept of Social Services and Leslie Van Horne, Executive Director of the Virginia Federation of Food Banks.
